Assumption of Risk, Release of Liability & Photo/Video Consent
Participation and Assumption of Risk: I understand that this event takes place in an outdoor ranch setting with animals, uneven ground, equipment, and physical activities, which may include wood chopping, tire flipping, and lassoing. Risks include falls, cuts, strains, animal-related injuries, property damage, and serious injury. I voluntarily accept the risks associated with my attendance and participation. I agree to follow staff instructions and safety rules and to participate only in activities appropriate for my abilities. I may decline any activity.
Release of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by California law, I release Wellness Ranch Equine Assisted Therapy, its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers from claims for injury, death, or property damage arising from my attendance or participation, including claims based on their ordinary negligence. This release does not apply to gross negligence, reckless or willful misconduct, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be waived.
Photo and Video Consent: I understand that photography and video recording will occur. I authorize Wellness Ranch Equine Assisted Therapy to photograph and record my image, likeness, and voice and use these materials on its website, social media, newsletters, and educational, promotional, and fundraising materials without compensation. These materials may be publicly available. Media consent is a condition of attendance; an option to decline photography or recording is not available. This consent does not authorize disclosure of my health information or treatment records.
Acknowledgment: I confirm that I am at least 18 years old and am agreeing on my own behalf. I have read and understand these terms, including that I am giving up certain legal rights.
