We are excited to announce our next event in the Luxembourg Academy of Medicine, Physiotherapy & Science in Sports series, featuring Hedwig Neels, PT, PhD.Hedwig Neels is a pelvic floor specialist at Antwerp University Hospital and a visiting professor at the University of Antwerp. She combines her academic and clinical work with support for professional cycling teams, with particular expertise in pelvic floor and saddle-related problems affecting female and male cyclists.
She is also the author of Bekkenbodemboek (The Pelvic Floor Book) and founder of The Pelvic Floor, an information platform that aims to improve understanding of pelvic floor health and break the taboo around pelvic floor problems.
For this lecture, she will focus on saddle soreness and other genitoperineal complaints in cyclists—a critical, often complex topic with direct implications across disciplines, performance levels, and age groups.
The lecture is organised by the Luxembourg Institute for High Performance in Sports (LIHPS) in the framework of the lecture series of the Luxembourg Academy of Medicine, Physiotherapy & Science in Sports and in conjunction with the national cycling federation FSCL. It will be given in English and is open to the general public. The lecture will last approximately 45 minutes, followed by a Q&A session. We hope to see you there!
