Get ready for a fantastic night of original music as Albert's Songwriters Showcase returns to Albert's Shed in Telford on Wednesday, November 4th. Kicking off at 8:30 PM, this is your chance to catch three incredible acts – completely free of charge.First off, prepare to be mesmerized by Kidd Raven, whose haunting vocals and genre-defying style mix English folk, American blues, and deeply personal storytelling. Her performances are a journey—you won’t want to miss a note.
Next, we have Alan Doyle. From Liverpool to Oswestry, Alan's storytelling through song is inspired by legends like Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell. Recently featured on BBC Introducing Radio Shropshire, Alan brings his heart and soul to the stage.
Closing out the show will be the electrifying Sad Vacation. This UK-based Alternative Rock - Post Punk band promises a truly captivating performance. Fronted by Sandy Stanton, whose distinctive voice can swing from angelic to darkly compelling, and featuring Dan Hull (ex-Night Worker Revival) on guitar, alongside Chris Cope on bass and Matt Banks (Human Stairs) on drums, their combined talent creates a rare magic and an unmistakable sound that you won't want to miss.
Join us for an evening celebrating local talent and original music. Mark your calendars and come on down to Albert's Shed for a night of brilliant live tunes!
SAD VACATION
Alternative Rock - Post Punk Band from the UK.
Members consist of Sandy Stanton, an already fully realised act in his own right with one of the most distinctive voices and a solid guitarist, his delivery of musical goods and subject matter are always a surprise, sometimes on the darker side and other times beautiful and sentimental, some say the voice of an angel, some say one of the fallen kind.
Dan Hull accompanies them on guitar, former member of the alternative shoegaze power house that was "Night Worker Revival". Sandy and Dan have been writing together for many years, and when together in a room along with Chris Cope on bass guitar and Matt Banks on drums ("Human Stairs") there is a magic in the air that is rare, and a sound that is unmistakably no other than that produced by "Sad Vacation"

ALAN DOYLE
Born in Liverpool, grew up mostly in Cheshire and now resident in Oswestry since 2004. I took up guitar mainly influenced by Paul Simon and other wonderful singer/songwriters such as Ralph McTell, James Taylor, Suzanne Vega, Joni Mitchell, Bert Jansch, Richard Thomson and along the way, far too many more to mention.
I’ve always loved songs that tell a story, and admired the way the great songwriters could relate their stories in such a condensed format as a song. It is a skill that I have tried to develop over the years.
My music has mainly been a very solitary pursuit until I moved to Shropshire where I was drawn into the local, live scene and actively started to perform more and found that I derived great pleasure from sharing my music with other like minded souls and I now co-host an Acoustic night at a local pub in Oswestry.
I was recently so pleased to have two of my songs played on BBC Introducing Radio Shropshire.

KIDD RAVEN
With a style that combines universal themes with highly personal narratives and draws on influences from English folk to American blues, Kidd’s hypnotic and affecting songs defy easy categorisation but are acclaimed wherever she performs. Not to be missed.
