Are you ready to rest, recharge and step away from the demands of the holiday season? To simply do without the ‘to-do’ list? We often resist the dark or the quiet, rushing to fill it with noise, but what if we honored it as a cozy, protective blanket in which to rest and recharge? As a prequel to the gradual return of light? Practice a radical act of self-care during one of the busiest and most demanding times of the year and honor your natural need for rest and stillness. This intentional Yin yoga practice falls in the peak of the year’s natural Yin energy – darkness, stillness and looking inward - and will provide the physical container to sit with and release the year’s stresses and tension, and nurture your inner self through slow, introspective Yin yoga poses along with relaxing, live cello music. This is an invitation to slow down, reconnect to your breath and find connection with the natural rhythms of life.
Held during a waxing gibbous moon just two days before the Winter Solstice on Saturday, December 19 from 4-5:30 PM (spaces are limited). Yin yoga led by Maryalice Snider, RYT 200 accompanied by Dr. Beth Vanderborgh, Professor of Cello at the University of Wyoming. Beth is also principal cellist of the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, and cellist of the Helios Trio, among other distinguished roles (look for her release of Bridge and Debussy Cello sonatas on Navona Records in February).
