Oratorios are religious musical works that share an account of sacred events - this one retells Joseph Smith's personal account of his experiences leading up to his First Vision in 1820, and is pivotal to the origin of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. The Sacred Grove Oratorio's purpose is to bring the audience on Joseph's journey and ponder on his experiences.
