Sacred Circles
Concentric • Conscious • Consensual • Connection
Come as you are. Leave more fully you.
Before we can truly meet another, we have to be willing to meet ourselves.
This is an invitation to come exactly as you are. All genders, orientations, and expressions are welcome.
We will gather, slow everything down, and return to the one relationship that makes all others possible: the one you have with yourself.
An Evening of Self-Consent
Sacred Circles is an experience built around the practice of self-consent—learning to listen inwardly and honor what is genuinely true for you in each moment.
Together, we’ll explore what happens when we drop beneath social reflex, people-pleasing, and the habit of outsourcing our yes and no to what feels expected.
Instead, we practice asking:
What is actually true for me right now?
And:
Can I trust myself to communicate that truth to another with care and love, while honoring myself and staying in integrity?
What to Expect
We’ll open in circle, establish shared agreements, and move through the evening together with care and intention.
We’ll explore self-consent through conversation, embodied movement, and authentic relating practices designed to help you check in with yourself before responding to those around you.
We’ll then bring everything we’ve practiced into a concentric circle experience—puja-style, for those familiar with the term.
Participants will meet one another through a series of 5–7 minute stations and invitations centered around presence, choice, connection, and authentic communication.
Throughout the experience, you are always invited to listen inwardly first.
Honoring the Yes & the No
We will practice saying no with grace and receiving no with honor.
We’ll explore what it feels like when a no is not rejection, but an act of integrity.
We’ll also explore the felt sense of an enthusiastic yes.
When we can truly trust one another’s no—when no is safe, clean, and respected—the yes that follows can become something extraordinary:
A yes we can trust, offered with aliveness and freedom.
Come Solo or Together
Individuals and partnerships of any kind are welcome.
During the concentric circle portion, partners may choose to stay together. Otherwise, participants will rotate and connect with others through the different stations.
There will be invitations for completely optional, non-sexual touch during the concentric circle experience. Participation in touch is never required.
Your yes and your no are both welcome.
The Circle
This experience requires a minimum of 12 participants and will be capped at 20 to keep the gathering intimate and connected.
If someone comes to mind who you think would benefit from this experience, bring them along.
Come as you are.
Listen inwardly.
Honor what is true.
Connect from there.
I look forward to meeting you in the circle.
FAQ
What is Sacred Circles?
Sacred Circles is an experience built on the theme of self consent and honest, clear communication and connection. It could be called an experiential workshop and it truly is an experience. We will move slowly and intentionally and every part of this experience is optional and an invitation only. Your relationship with self is the most valuable one, so however you need and want to take care of yourself (of course always respecting those around you) is welcome.
Can you give me an idea of the flow of the evening?
Sure! We open in a circle for introductions, set group agreements and have a conversation about self consent. We then move our bodies to ground and access ourselves deeper. After that, we explore connection with other participants through authentic relating exercises, take a break and then transition into the portion of the evening where we form concentric circles and travel through stations with fellow participants. Given prompts for each station, we ask ourselves the questions; What is true for me right now? Am I able to be honest with myself about it? Am I able to communicate that to the person or people I’m partnered with?
What does the concentric circles portion involve?
You will rotate through a series of 5–7 minute stations, meeting different participants through guided prompts designed to help you practice checking in with yourself before responding. Think of it as a structured way to practice presence and honest communication in real time. Every prompt is an invitation, and you are welcome to do as much, as little, or none of it at all. It is all about your personal choice and discernment.
There will be invitation for touch with the partner across from you, it will be non-sexual and you will be guided how to negotiate that invitation to a place that feels right for you both.
Do I need any prior experience?
None whatsoever
What does "Self Consent" mean?
Self consent is the practice of checking in with yourself honestly before giving a response - even to yourself. This practice takes patience, time and pause, and often a lot of unlearning.
It is a practice of listening deeper to your body, intuition, your soul’s longing, your resistance, and surrender. It’s about uncovering the truth within yourself and acting from that truth, instead of reacting to how you think the world wants you to. This is where self trust is built. With a self consent practice, you learn to fully trust yourself, get honest with yourself, and become better able to communicate that truth, with love and compassion in all of your relationships.
We often outsource our yes to caretaking, social pressure, old patterns, conditioning from a young age and other people's comfort before we have even consulted ourselves. We feel uncomfortable saying and receiving no, so we avoid it - leading to self abandonment and resentment.
Self consent asks you to pause, even briefly, and turn inward first. To become honest. To find out what is actually true for you in this moment before you express your position.
It sounds simple. It’s not.
The practice has layers. On the surface it is about learning to say no without guilt and yes without obligation. Underneath that, it is about developing enough trust in your own inner signal that you can actually feel it, distinguishing between a genuine yes and a genuine no.
When your No can be trusted, your Yes becomes easier to trust.
Is this a sexual experience?
No. This experience is focused entirely on self awareness, authentic communication, and relational presence. There is no sexual content or contact. There is certainly an invitation for connection with others, and some of that, should you choose, will involve touch if you’re a YES,
We will be working with embodied presence and the honest movement of energy within you. What we are practicing is the ability to feel your own aliveness clearly, communicate it honestly, and remain in integrity with yourself and others while doing so.
Can I come with a partner?
Yes. Partnerships of any relational dynamic are welcome (romantic, aromantic, friendship, family). You may choose to remain together and work with each other during the concentric circles portion, or rotate with other participants for a wider range of experience.
Will I be asked to do anything I'm not comfortable with?
Honoring your yes and your no is literally the point of the entire evening. You will be invited into experiences that are all always optional. Your boundaries are not only respected here, they are encouraged and celebrated. If you feel resistance, discomfort or an inner no to anything, your no will be honored.
Is this a sober event?
110%! Your yes and no can only be honored in your conscious, unaltered state. Not honoring this is a dishonor to yourself and everyone in the space. The efficacy of your self consent and consent with others is only available if you are clear and connected to self. Please respect this agreement with your whole heart.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable that allows you to move freely. We will have a movement portion so anything you can breathe and stretch in works well.
How many people will be there?
The experience requires a minimum of 12 participants to run and caps at 20, keeping the space intimate and held.
What if I say no to something during the circles?
That is not only okay — it is the practice. A no in this space is not rejection. It is an act of integrity and self honor, and it will be received as exactly that.
Who is facilitating?
Yana has walked the tantric path for twelve years. Through intensive training, workshops, festivals, and years of assisting and co-facilitating with an inspired array of teachers nationally and internationally. She has done extensive mentorship and has produced and co-facilitated workshops on consent, boundaries, embodiment, energy, and self inquiry, bringing both depth of knowledge and a genuine love of the work to everything she holds.
As a former (but forever), health coach, personal trainer, and yoga teacher (with focus on curvy and restorative yoga). Her work has always been about helping people come home to themselves. As a current American Sign Language Interpreter, she loves to bridge communication and access between languages and cultures.
What makes Yana's facilitation distinctive is the warmth she brings into the room. She has a natural gift for creating spaces where people feel genuinely accepted, where the pressure to perform or arrive already put-together simply dissolves. She loves supporting people in becoming better friends with themselves, holding others lovingly through desired shifts and transitions, and inspiring people to show up more fully and authentically as who they already are.
Sacred Circles is her solo facilitation debut, and she is genuinely thrilled to be offering this experience.
