S-ence returns to the Cuba St Tavern Courtyard after a winter hiatus with a special spring selection. Koa | Fras Left | Jen Kyle | Coda
Koa was at the very forefront of Wellington’s infatuation with electronic bass music as the 1980s shifted into the 1990s. Regularly behind the decks at groundbreaking nightspots like The Carpark, Naked Angel, Cuba Cuba, Bar Bodega, and The Sub Club.
Co-founding and performing with the legendary Roots Foundation Sound System, and a core member of the acclaimed electronic/dub outfit Rhombus, Koa hangs-up his reggae and dub hat for the night to bring us heavyweight selections from across the electronic spectrum.
Fra Left hosts the iconic Friday Night Flava on Radio Active.FM, and is also a dark horse in Wellington’s underground dance scene. Surfacing regularly to delivery standout sets to remind us of his mastery - the first Active Oasis with Maximillian and more recently highlighting Music and the City, to name a few.
S-ence resident Jen Kyle comes fresh off sets at The Chapel of Sound and XCommunicate - delving once again into her distinctive repertoire of house, techno, dark disco, acid, hi-nrg and beyond.
For S-ence founder DJ Coda, CST is not just a happy place, each visit to the decks in the lush courtyard an opportunity to gather another selection of dancefloor gems - old and new.
Expect genre-bending set across the night.
