AcroYoga is often associated with movement, playfulness, strength, and dynamic flows. In this workshop, we’ll explore a softer, more restorative side of the practice: Flying Therapeutics.Flying Therapeutics is a partner-based bodywork practice where one person is supported in a comfortable, often inverted position. While the base draws on many of the skills you may already know from AcroYoga, the flyer is invited to soften, surrender their weight, and allow their body to be moved, stretched, and supported. The focus is on listening, care, and creating a sense of ease.
We’ll explore some of the fundamental techniques and principles of therapeutic flying, and then weave what we’ve learned into a simple therapeutic sequence. Everyone will have the chance to both offer and receive (and spot) a nourishing flight.
Many people experience therapeutic flying as deeply relaxing. Gentle traction can create space in the spine, ease muscular tension, and invite a sense of calm and presence. Most of all, it offers a rare opportunity to let go, be fully supported, and simply enjoy the feeling of being carried.
No prior experience is required—just curiosity, comfortable clothing, and a willingness to try.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Eva Junge: "I have been teaching AcroYoga for around 10 years and have always been particularly curious about the softer, lunar side of the practice. I love the unique experience of being upside down while fully relaxing, and the way it can create a sense of space in both body and mind. In my experience, therapeutic flying offers something deeply special that is hard to find in other forms of bodywork. After often ending my AcroYoga classes with a little therapeutic flying “cool down”, I’ve long wanted to create a workshop where we have more time to explore, and dive deeper into this practice. I bring a warm, attentive, and playful approach to teaching, with a strong focus on creating a safe and trusting space for everyone."
