This 1 day course and exam is a legal requirement for anyone wanting to own or operate a VHF/DSC marine radio setThose wanting to commercially endorse an RYA/MCA Certificate of competence certificate also requires an SRC licence as part of the application process. Similarly a number of boat clubs and charter companies require members to hold an SRC Licence in order to take charge/skipper one of their vessels.
Required experience: None
Duration (Prep Work): 3hrs pre home work
Duration (Classroom): 7hrs (9.00am - 4.30pm)
Duration (Exam): 2-3hrs (4.30pm - 7.30pm) Optional - *Additional payment of £76, payable directly to the RYA, required to undertake the exam.
Minimum age for course: 16+
Minimum age for exam: 16+
Exam Validity: Lifetime

- Duration: 8hrs (9am - 5.30pm inc lunch break)
- Minimum age: 12+ (anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by a parent/guardian)
