The RYA Day Skipper Theory course will start on Tuesday January 12th 2026 and run on consecutive Tuesday evenings culminating in the weekend of revision and assessment on March 5/6 2027.Contact Christine if you are interested - [email protected]
This course covers all the essentials of near-shore navigation, collision regulations, meteorology, tidal calculations, safety and much more. It is essential preparation for the Day Skipper Practical course. The theory course takes place one evening a week, each session is structured to give you an introduction and then some hands on practice to reinforce your understanding of each topic.
The course consists of 40 hours of tuition and study plus breaks, is supported by a comprehensive set of RYA materials plus additional Sailing notes, and tutors who are always happy to be contacted should you have a problem.
