What is Making Strides Against Breast Cancer? Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Central Virginia is a powerful, non-competitive community walk that brings people together to raise awareness and funds to end breast cancer. This is an approximately 5K experience focused on community engagement, socialization, and impact and not speed or competition.
What is the walk route? The walk begins at Monroe Park, travels up West Franklin Street, and continues to Monument Avenue turning around at the Branch Museum at the intersection of Monument Avenue and N Davis then returning to Monroe Park. This route is subject to change if needed.
What should I bring? We’ll have water stations available, but we recommend bringing:
- Water bottle
- Picnic blanket
- Lawn chairs (no stakes or ground-piercing items allowed in Monroe Park)
This is a fun, family-friendly field day, so bring everyone you know for a fun day in the park!
