Rural Tapes — the brainchild of Norwegian producer Arne Kjelsrud Mathisen — has been praised by MOJO as a "hybrid between Kraftwerk, Tortoise, Air, and Serge Gainsbourg". Since his 2021 debut, he’s released 4 critically acclaimed albums, two cassette tapes with tape work experiments, EP’s and outtakes, collaborating with musicians like Peter Buck (R.E.M.), Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), Steve Wynn (The Dream Syndicate), Gary Olson (The Ladybug Transistor) among others. To his solo performance at Larry’s Corner he will bring tape machines, dictaphones and synths to perform an improvised set of cosmic, ambient music.
