Fleetwood Mac, (a name synonymous with great music) is a British-American band formed in London in 1967. To date, they have sold more than 140 million records worldwide, making them one of the world's best-selling bands of all time. In 1998, select members of Fleetwood Mac were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and received the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.
ABOUT THE BAND
Skye Wilson’s incomparable lead vocals drive the show backed by her exciting rhythm guitar work. She is no newcomer to the South African music scene, having formed The Sunshines with Greg Schoeman in 1993. The Sunshines recorded and independently released their debut album “Removeable Tattoos” (available on iTunes, Google Play, Deezer and Amazon) at Shifty Records in 1994 and dominated SA’s national and regional airwaves with their contagious, feel-good pop tunes which included the hits “Wanna make love”; “Happy Person” and “Judy”. Skye’s first album, Transformme, released in 2013, is a dreamy and somewhat indefinable collection of songs, stories and recollections, available for download on iTunes, Google Play, Deezer and Amazon.
Greg Schoeman (electric guitarist and vocalist ) is a professional, experienced and diverse guitar player and vocalist. His style ranges from pop/rock to blues/soul with a drop of African thrown in for good measure. Along with Skye, he founded The Sunshines in the 90’s. He also plays for the popular Fancy Galada Band. Greg recently released his self penned album called "In My Street", available for download at iTunes, Google Play, Deezer and Amazon.
Sarah McArthur is a singer/songwriter and keyboard player. She has performed her original music at various venues, including Café Roux, Alma Cafe and the iconic Barleycorn Music Club, where she won their songwriting competition in 2016, placed in the top ten in 2017, came second in 2019 and won again in 2021. Sarah is a keen collaborator and is happiest sharing the stage with other musicians. Over the last few years she has been privileged to play keyboards for and record on the albums of Jon Shaban and Luzelle. Sarah is a regular member of the Big Christmas Africa concerts with The Misty Cliffs and is a cast member of ‘Sin and Salvation’, the Johnny Cash story. Sarah has three EPs under her belt. The first was produced by Wren Hinds, the second and third produced by long-time collaborator Jon Shaban.
Guido Helm (bass player and vocalist) has over 25 years of experience in the music industry. Guido hails from Windhoek, Namibia where he began studying classical and electric guitar at age 14 at the highly acclaimed College for the Arts, (previously known as Windhoek Conservatoire). He relocated to Cape Town in 1996 to pursue his musical career. He joined his first project “Calamity Jane” as lead guitarist. The band recorded a few singles which received airplay on 5FM and played various festivals including Wingerdstock and Up the Creek. In 2000, a new project was formed called “Kelvin Declined”. The band quickly gained popularity in Cape Town and recorded their self-titled debut album. The album produced 5 radio singles and they toured the country and played festivals including Oppikoppi and Woodstock amongst others. A music video to the hit single “42” made it onto MTV Europe. Since then Guido has played in other bands and is equally adept at lead and bass guitar. In 2008 Guido relocated to Johannesburg to join rock band “One Day Remains”. The band signed a 3 album deal with David Gresham Records, released their debut album and started touring and receiving extensive air time on radio and television with songs like “The Need” and “Never Say Die”. In 2009 Guido crossed paths with Mark Beling who had departed from his band Mean Mr. Mustard and was offered to join his new project, “The Mark Beling Band”. The project saw the release of a new album “Mercury”, through Sting Records and resulted in radio play and supporting “The Christians” on their South African tour. Whilst in Johannesburg, Guido also did session recordings and gigs for artists such as Blackbyrd, Peter Pote (Evolver), Nelda, Tresspass and MENS. He relocated back to Cape Town in 2021 and we are very pleased he did.
Matt Catto, drummer/percussionist and vocalist, was born in Johannesburg into the Blundell musical folk dynasty. He says “my earliest memories are of family singalongs, barn dances with many of the big folk music personalities of the time coming around to the house for visits/rehearsals.” After moving to Cape Town in 1999, Matt pursued his love for music by helping form a band with his brother Nick in 2001. Several bands (and as many genres) later, he co-formed the successful Hatchetman which focused on three-part harmony and emotive, thought-provoking song writing. Many years later, Matt is still focused on singing and deeply enjoys creating harmonies with similarly inclined musicians as well as being a very proficient drummer/percussionist.
