Rueda de Casino Workshop (All Levels)\Nov 20 7:45-8:45 PM @ Dance Institute of Washington DC\
‼️PLEASE NOTE: LOCATION IS DIFFERENT THAN OUR USUAL CLASSES‼️
Curious about Casino? Join Rumba Queer for an all-levels Rueda de Casino workshop led by Okechi.
Rueda de Casino is a group dance rooted in Casino, a Cuban dance style, where multiple couples dance together in a circle, following calls for synchronized moves and partner changes. Whether you're brand new to rueda or have danced it before, this workshop will introduce the fundamentals while giving more experienced dancers new patterns to explore.
Okechi's passion for Casino comes from the joy and community it creates. Drawn to its vibrant music, creativity, and social nature, he loves helping dancers connect with one another while exploring the many possibilities of Casino and rueda. For Okechi, every dance is an opportunity to build community, celebrate the music, and have fun.
No partner is required—all identities, experience levels, and dance backgrounds are welcome.
