This seasonal tour on the Roycroft Campus is based in historical facts as we discuss various rituals and customs that Victorian people during the 19th century believed about death. Some may seem rather silly, some gruesome, and some frightful. From the beginnings of Gothic Horror, the loss of a loved one, to the burial and reaching out to those in the afterlife, come and experience a macabre evening of chills, and see how these ideas have influenced our own contemporary views of “horror.”This tour begins at the Roycroft Power House (39 South Grove St., East Aurora) is 1.5 hours long and has limited handicapped accessibility. Certain floors of the Print Shop tower are only accessible by stairs. Part of the tour is outside, please dress for the weather. This tour also includes some access to the Campus Museum and Press Room.
Reservations are required due to the limited space on each guided tour.
