Route 66: Travelers and Tribes

The rise of automobiles, innovations in travel, and accessibility to scenic locations via Route 66 allowed people to travel like never before. Passing through the Southwest, Route 66 brought a large influx of visitors and tourism to areas along the route. Join Dine'Tah Navajo Cultural Program Director and historian, Shawn Price as he discusses the highway’s economic impact on tribal communities. Learn how Route 66 created a crossroad of commerce and convergence for travelers and indigenous populations along the “Mother Road.”
Program will begin at 7:00 pm; PMH Galleries will be open for viewing at 6:00 pm.
