This concert, titled "Pokrov" or "Покров", is an afternoon of sacred choral music dedicated to the Mother of God.
The Russian Orthodox Male Choir of Australia (ROMCA) will present a selection of some of the most beloved hymns from the Russian Orthodox tradition honouring the Theotokos, including «Богородице Дево, радуйся», «Взбранной Воеводе», «Величит душа моя Господа», «Достойно есть», and others. These works invite listeners into an atmosphere of prayer and reverence, to experience the beauty and depth of Russian Orthodox sacred music.
Following ROMCA’s landmark 10th anniversary concert at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, this concert is the choir’s first concert in this new chapter. Returning to the sacred repertoire at the heart of its musical life, ROMCA invites audiences to spend an afternoon immersed in the timeless hymns of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Tickets may be purchased online in advance or at the door on the day of the performance, with both cash and card payments accepted.
