The Riverfront are proud to be a part of the Rip It Up nationwide film season, celebrating the changing face of youth rebellion, culture and expression on screen across the UK. Our focus is on what it means to be young in Newport, highlighting stories that reflect the city's youth culture and music scene. Alongside the screenings, music videos from local bands will amplify the voices of Newport creatives. Rocks (12A)Film Description:
A teenage girl in London is forced to care for her younger brother after being abandoned by their mother, relying on friendship, strength, and resilience to survive.

As part of an Operasonic project, our intern Maria Kandracova was supported to record a song and produce a music video with The Newport Boys as well as schedule a series of gigs for this up-and-coming band.
The Newport Boys are a talented group of Gypsy Roma Musicians who live and play in Newport; their music is full of passion and this song is a heartfelt tribute to lost love. The Music video was filmed in Newport and Cardiff with Maria leading the art direction.
