🏞️Park & Trail description:
The Arbor Ridge Segment is a part of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail located on the northwestern edge of Janesville in Rock County. The trail runs from the Robert Cook Memorial Arboretum Upper Parking Area to N. Washington St. (CTH-E).
No permit is required to hike this segment, though visitors should adhere to the posted hours and regulations of the Robert O. Cook Memorial Arboretum.
Potable water and restrooms are available seasonally at the arboretum shelter, but hikers should carry a primary supply as these facilities are typically winterized.
Dogs are not allowed on this segment from May 15 to September 15. At other times of the year, they must be on a leash (no longer than 6 feet).
The trail is easily accessible from the main parking area, the Upper Lot of the Robert Cook Memorial Arboretum.
This segment is known for its rugged and scenic glacial topography, featuring steep "kettle and kame" formations, dense hardwood forests, and views of the surrounding prairie restorations.

🥾What to Expect:
We'll hike approximately 2 miles at a comfortable, conversational pace.
We'll meet at the Robert O. Cook Memorial Arboretum — Upper Parking Area for parking and then begin with brief introductions and an overview of the evening. From there, we'll set out together to enjoy the fresh air, beautiful scenery, and meaningful conversation along the trail.
We'll then complete the second half of the hike and return to the trailhead. Participants who pre-register can pick up their complimentary 4-C swag bag, filled with informational materials and fun giveaways. 4-C staff will remain available after the hike to answer questions and connect with attendees.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. We recommend bringing a water bottle. The hike will take place in rain or shine unless severe weather requires cancellation.
