Electric Bass Masterclass

This Electric Bass Masterclass is designed for musicians who already have a basic understanding of the instrument and are ready to build on that foundation. If you know some scales, can play basic bass lines, and recognize some of the notes on the fretboard, this class is for you.
Participants will explore efficient ways to navigate the fretboard, connect scales and patterns, and understand how the bass functions within a band. Topics will include practical music theory, groove development, note choice, locking in with a drummer, creating stronger bass lines, and confidently participating in jam sessions and unfamiliar musical situations.
Participants should bring an electric bass and an instrument cable.
About the Instructor:
Jesse Ogle is an accomplished bassist with more than 25 years of professional performance experience and over 20 years of experience as a music educator. He has toured throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Europe and has recorded with numerous artists across jazz, funk, soul, R&B, African, Middle Eastern, Latin, hip-hop, folk, rock, and pop music.
Jesse has served as a guest instructor at Loyola University New Orleans, the University of Colorado Boulder, Fort Lewis College, Clackamas Community College, and numerous music schools and educational programs. He holds a master’s degree in Songwriting and Music Production and a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance.
