THE TIERNEY SUTTON BANDThursday, January 14 · 7:30 PM · Manship Theatre
One of the most distinctive voices in jazz, in the most intimate room in Baton Rouge.
A nine-time Grammy nominee often called "the musician's singer," Tierney Sutton treats her voice as an instrument, weaving it into the fabric of her band rather than sitting on top of it. She is a masterful interpreter of the Great American Songbook who has headlined Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center, and lent her voice to Clint Eastwood's film Sully.
The Tierney Sutton Band is one of the longest-running working groups in jazz, and that history shows in every note. Elegant, emotional, and beautifully controlled.
