About this Event
Through live music, spoken word poetry, DJs, dancing, projection art, and embodied wellness practices, some of the Lowcountry’s most compelling artists and facilitators invite you to slow down, connect more deeply with yourself and others, and discover what becomes possible when we let go.
Because life asks us to let go again and again—of people we love, chapters that close, identities we outgrow, and versions of ourselves we’re ready to leave behind. Yet we’re rarely given a space to honor those transitions together.
Ritual & Release creates that space.
Whether you’re grieving a loss, moving through transition, or simply longing for connection in uncertain times, Ritual & Release invites you to step out of the everyday and into a shared experience of beauty, catharsis, and human connection.
Honor the past. Embody the present. Release the rest.

Proceeds from this year’s event benefit , an organization working to make mental and behavioral health care accessible to children who might otherwise go without it.
Partnering with Title I elementary schools across the Charleston tri-county area, the organization brings therapy and emotional wellness programming directly into schools, during the school day, at no cost to families. Their approach ranges from trauma-informed training for teachers and early intervention for students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges to ongoing one-on-one clinical therapy for children with more complex needs.
Through programs like THRIVE, Charleston Hope places licensed clinicians and care teams inside partner schools to provide consistent, measurable mental health support for children from preschool through fifth grade.
Their Step-In program helps girls in third through fifth grade develop emotional resilience, healthy relationships, and leadership skills through trauma-informed social-emotional learning. By supporting children, educators, and school communities together, Charleston Hope is working toward a future where every child has access to the care and tools they need to thrive.
