A portugál szoprán, Camila Mandillo a berlini Hanns Eisler Zeneművészeti Főiskolán szerezte diplomáját, jelenleg pedig a belgiumi Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel rezidens művésze. Az operaszínpadok mellett különleges figyelmet szentel pályáján a kortárs zenének. Sokoldalúságát bizonyítja, hogy repertoárján a barokk operák és a legfrissebb ősbemutatók egyaránt helyet kapnak. Budapesti dalestje 20–21. századi kompozíciókra fókuszál: Messiaen és Richard Strauss művei mellett az egykori Hindemith-tanítvány, Ruth Schönthal darabjait is megszólaltatja zongorista partnere, Filipe Gaio Pereira közreműködésével. A koncert egyik legizgalmasabb pillanata az ECHO felkérésére komponált mű premierje, a közel-keleti és nyugati hagyományokat gyakran ötvöző libanoni–brit zeneszerzőnő, Bushra El-Turk új darabja lesz.A Rising Stars programba jelölte: Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Casa de Música, BOZAR.

The Portuguese soprano Camila Mandillo graduated from the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin and is currently an artist in resident at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium. In addition to the performing opera, she devotes special attention to contemporary music. Her versatility is reflected in a repertoire that embraces both Baroque opera and the latest world premieres. Her Budapest song recital will focus on 20th- and 21st-century compositions: alongside works by Messiaen and Richard Strauss, she will perform pieces by Ruth Schönthal, a former pupil of Hindemith, with her pianist partner Filipe Gaio Pereira. One of the most exciting aspects of the concert will be the world premiere of a new work commissioned by ECHO from the Lebanese-British composer Bushra El-Turk, whose music frequently combines Middle Eastern and Western traditions.
