"Rise of the Geeks" is an idea started in Oldham over 10 years ago that brings all the runners from the area together at the highest road point in the town all dressed in Christmas Gear. They then set off just before 8am as the sun starts to rise and head to their local parkrun arriving in time to also take part there, running or volunteering.I thought I would bring the idea to Penrith and see if we can bring some Christmas cheer to the whole of Penrith as we run through the town.
This is open anyone and everyone, the route is 4 miles long, mostly downhill with a few rest / photo stops along the way.
So dig out that Christmas outfit, pull on your running kicks and let's all rise together.
All runners run at their own risk, if children are running they must be with a responsible adult who can take responsibility for them.
This event is not connected to parkrun or any other running body.
IT IS FREE 😀
