About this Event
When violence happens between two adults in a home, that impact doesn't stay just between the adults - it also reaches the children who witness it. They are more than witnesses; they carry the weight of what happens at home, often silently.
Join us for a guided conversation exploring how family violence shapes the youngest, often overlooked members of a household, and what caring adults can do to help them heal.
Hosted by Trinity Kimble, this conversation brings together Joy Chuba, Daniel Ortiz, and Ilvia Ortiz-Paez to unpack a topic that affects far more families in our community than we often realize.
In this session, we'll explore:
- What family violence actually is
- What children experience when they live in a home with family violence
- What trauma responses can look like at different developmental stages
- How caring adults can support children in healing
- How we, as a community, can help break the cycle
Who should attend:
This event is designed for nonprofit professionals, educators, service providers, and caring community members who want to better understand - and respond to - the hidden impact of family violence on children.
Light refreshments will be provided.
We hope you'll join us for this important conversation.
