Ring in the Thousand Years of Peace invites you into a contemplative world where music becomes a vessel for hope, renewal, and the passage of time. At the heart of the program lies Jonathan Dove's The Passing of the Year. Dedicated to the composer's mother, the work uses texts by William Blake, GeorgePeele, Emily Dickinson, and Alfred, Lord Tennyson to trace the cycle of the seasons and human mortality. Together with works by Henk Badings, Dale Trumbore, Johannes Brahms, Lili Boulanger, and Eric Whitacre, the program weaves a tapestry of reflection and longing — inviting audiences to sit with the mysteries of endings and beginnings, and to find in music the quiet promise of peace across generations.
