If you’re interested in developing the correct gymnastic exercises to suit your individual horse, this two-day clinic will give you the knowledge and practical skills to do exactly that.Following the principles of French classical training, we will explore the importance of balance, relaxation and correct impulsion, developing a horse that is supple, athletic and a willing partner. Alongside the horse’s education, we will also focus on the rider’s position and the classical seat, helping you develop clearer, more effective aids that your horse can easily understand.
The aim is to help you recognise what your horse needs at each stage of their training, giving you a logical and sympathetic training plan that allows them to progress to their full potential. The clinic is suitable for all levels of horse and rider.
I am a Level 1 Licensed Teacher of Philippe Karl’s School of Légèreté (School of Lightness). The founding principle of the School is absolute respect for the horse. Rather than relying on force or artificial training aids such as side reins, draw reins or tightly fitted nosebands, the School develops horses through correct gymnastic training, systematic education and a clear understanding of how horses learn.
With a progressive and reliable training system that fully respects the horse, the principles of classical riding become accessible to every horse and every rider, not just the naturally talented.
This is a two-day clinic, and lessons may be ridden or in-hand. Occasionally I have space for lessons on one day.
