Pedal for a Purpose — Ride the Rhenoster 2026Since 2008, Ride the Rhenoster has been bringing riders together for something bigger than just a race. Once a year, the landowners of the Crocodile River Reserve open their gates — and for one extraordinary day, these protected trails are yours to explore.
Just 20 minutes from Fourways, you'll ride through rocky ridges, ancient Egoli Granite Grasslands, riverbeds and open skies. Past the mystery of Ladybird Castle, the old silver mine, and the quiet stories of Koppie Alleen — every kilometre has something to discover.
With 20km and 40km options, there's a route for every rider. And R100 of every ticket sold goes directly toward conservation and community projects in the Reserve.
This isn't just a ride. It's a reason to ride.
NEW IN 2026 — The Little Rhenoster!
For 18 years, the Ride the Rhenoster has been enjoyed by hundreds of cyclists — but it always felt like the youngest members of the family were missing out. CRR events have always been family-focused, so this year we're changing that!
The Little Rhenoster is a brand new 2km child-friendly off-road route, open inside the Four Wheel Drive Club. Kids can do as many laps as they like — no pressure to compete, just fresh air, two wheels, and pure fun. Every child receives a medal regardless of how many laps they complete, because just showing up is reason enough to celebrate!
We'd love to foster a love of cycling, the outdoors, and most importantly — time together as a family.
A few important things to know:
✔️Open to children aged 6-11 (older kids keen for more? The 20km trail is waiting!)
✔️Marshals will be on course, but a parent or guardian must be present with their child at all times — this is not a drop-and-go event
✔️Start time is 10:30am, giving cycling parents the best chance to be back from their own ride in time to cheer on their little ones!
If Mom is riding and Dad isn't — perfect, he stays with the kids. If both Mom and Dad are riding — bring Granny!
