This year our fourth class of the Beginners Course will take place!
The course
Have you recently started cycling and would you like to take the next step and join the many social rides that are organized? During the Ride Out Beginners Course, the team from Ride Out will help you improve your performance on the bike and get you ready for your very first social ride in a big group of cyclists.
You're welcome to join this beginners course if you have done a few solo rides or some rides with friends and would like to improve your group riding skills. For this course, a road bike or gravel bike with drop bars and shoes with cleats are required, and it's recommended that you've already done a few rides with this equipment.
Our trainers speak both English and Dutch and will be happy to help you in both languages.
When.
Starting at the beginning, make sure to block the following dates in your calendar to ensure that you can join all the sessions:
- Wednesday, March 11th - Getting ready and getting to know your bike at Ride Out’s workshop (19:00 - 21:00, no bikes required for this session).
- Saturday, March 14th - Technique on the bike (course 1), the first lessons on the bike (09:30 - 10:30).
- Saturday, March 21st - Technique on the bike (course 2), learn to improve your gears and cornering skills on the ‘climb’ of Spaarnwoude (10:00 - 13:00).
- Saturday, March 28th - Your very first Social Ride where you’ll learn various technique exercises and group etiquette during a 60/70 km ride (10:00 - 13:00).
How to sign up.
To get you fully "group ride ready" it is best to attend all four sessions, because each session builds on the previous one. Joining this course costs €50 and if you join all the sessions you'll receive a €25 Ride Out Gift Card. There are only a limited number of tickets available so when you sign up, we assume that you can attend all sessions that you signed up for. This way we can avoid unused spots.
To sign up:
- First, select the paid ticket, which will ensure entry to the course.
- After this, sign up for all the sessions that you can attend.
