Deputy Logan Utt, husband, father, U.S. military veteran and firefighter, lost his life on May 29th, 2026 when he was shot during a wellness check call in Cana, Virginia. The shooter fired at Deputy Utt and a second Carroll County Sheriff's Office deputy as soon as they arrived on scene. The other deputy was hit in his ballistic vest, but Utt was fatally injured. The shooter fled the scene but was arrested in North Carolina after a 2-day manhunt. Deputy Utt was a native of Surry County, NC. He served as a deputy sheriff for the Carroll County Sheriffs Office in Virginia.
For those of you wishing to participate in the ride for Officer Utt here are the details of our meet up to ride to Mt. Airy together. We will be stopping on the way for breakfast at Cracker Barrel in Mt. Airy before heading over to the ride meet up location, which is Hobby Lobby in Mt Airy.
THERE IS A $20.00 RIDE FEE (CASH ONLY) THIS WILL BE COLLECTED ONCE WE ARRIVE THERE - ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE CHILDREN OF OFFICER UTT.
