Info: Maalak is a martial artist, dancer, and teacher with more than 40 years of experience. He holds a degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University and began studying Chinese Kenpo in 1967 with Hawaii’s Gaylord Brothers. He later earned a Black Belt in Japanese Karate from Don Buck’s School of the Tiger and studied Shaolin and Tai Chi with legendary Master Kuo Lien-Ying. In 1973, Maalak co-founded the School of the Dancing Warriors.

Info: Antoinette Ingram is the founder of Thee Heavy Wait Wellness Collective, a Certified Kidney Health Coach, Certified Patient Leader, and kidney transplant recipient. Diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy in 2012, she experienced kidney failure in 2016 and spent nearly ten years on in-center dialysis. Her journey inspired a passion for patient advocacy and improving education, understanding, and representation for historically underrepresented communities. Through culturally inclusive coaching and resources, Antoinette helps individuals navigate chronic kidney disease, dialysis, transplant readiness, and weight-related barriers to care. She is an ambassador for the American Association of Kidney Patients and the IgA Nephropathy Foundation and speaks on kidney health, dialysis options, and self-advocacy.
