Rhythmic Traditions Thurs., Nov. 12, 6–8 PM
Utah Cultural Celebration Center – 1355 W 3100 S, West Valley City, UT 84119
How can art, storytelling, and tradition help communities heal? Inspired by PBS Utah's This Is Utah: The Jingle Dress Project, November's Shared Stories event invites you to explore the enduring power of Indigenous culture and creativity through an evening of dance, music, and storytelling.
Join Native artist, storyteller, advocate, and performer Rhonda "Honey" DuVall as she shares the rich traditions and living cultures of Indigenous communities while reflecting on themes of healing, resilience, and connection. The evening will feature a short clip highlighting photographer Eugene Tapahe's Jingle Dress Project, which celebrates the healing legacy of the Jingle Dress Dance and art's ability to bring people together during challenging times.
Through performance and cultural teachings, Honey will offer insight into the ways art helps preserve traditions, strengthen community, and foster understanding across generations.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Seating is limited. Please RSVP to Jessica Rasekhi at [email protected] by Nov. 9.
