In celebration of April as both National Poetry Month and Jazz Appreciation Month, GrioXArts presents "Rhythm & Verse," an exhibition that explores the rich interplay between these two vital American art forms.

This exhibition showcases collage works that honor the legacy of jazz legends whose innovative spirits transformed American culture. The featured artworks explore the visual language of album cover art—a canvas where graphic design, photography, and illustration have created iconic representations of sound. Through contemporary artistic responses, we witness how the kinetic energy of jazz performance continues to inspire visual artists working today.

On Saturday, April 26, we welcome you to participate in our special event celebrating the intersection of jazz and poetry through a creative collage workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to embroider photographic elements and create their own poetry collages, extending the exhibition's themes through personal artistic expression.

This exhibition will also feature programming with Vinyl Tap 215, a Philadelphia-based DJ collective. These talented DJs will gather in fellowship to spin an all-Jazz set, bringing the historical recordings of jazz legends to life in our gallery space and creating a dynamic soundtrack to complement the visual journey.
