Halloween is on a Saturday this year. Spend the first part of it falling for each other again.
Doors 4:00. Lesson 4:15. Open floor 5:15. Done by 5:30, so you still make every party you said yes to. And tonight, when the DJ plays a bachata, you are the couple that gets up.
What the 90 minutes look like
4:00 to 4:15: wine, chocolate, candlelight and a few minutes to meet the other couples. Nobody dances yet.
4:15 to 5:15: a beginner salsa and bachata lesson built for two. You dance only with the person you came with. No rotating, no switching partners, no experience needed. Most of the room has never taken a dance class. By the end you have a basic, a turn and one move that looks like you planned it.
5:15 to 5:30: open floor with a Halloween-tinted Latin playlist. This is the part people remember.
Dress code: think date night
Costume optional. A lace masquerade mask for her comes with the ticket. Wear it for the photo and the open floor; the lesson is easier without it. Vampires, witches and anyone in red are welcome.
Who this is for
Couples. That is the only ticket we sell. Married, dating, second date, two friends who dance together, it does not matter, you just come as a pair. 21 and up because of the wine. Spots are limited so the instructor can actually get to every couple.
Who is teaching
The lesson is led by Gloria, trained by Avissh, the founder of Salsa Dance LA, or by Avissh himself when he is in town. Avissh has taught couples to dance since 2012 and designed every minute of this plan.
Why it sells out
This is the Halloween edition of Rhythm & Romance, our Valentine's couples night in Los Angeles that has sold out five years running. Same format, same wine, darker playlist.
Tickets
$99 per couple through October 24, then $119 per couple. One ticket admits two. Full refund up to 7 days before the event; after that your ticket is transferable to another couple.
