Fancy giving something in your wardrobe a new lease of life?Join us on Sunday 22nd November, 10.30 –4pm at Yardley Hastings Village Hall for a relaxed and creative day of sewing, upcycling and making the most of the clothes you already own.
Bring along a piece of clothing you'd like to alter or upcycle, a sewing project you've been meaning to finish, or simply an idea you'd like to explore. We’ll help you look at what you have and work out what might be possible.
We’ll be concentrating on simple, achievable changes that can be worked on during the day, things like hems, moving belt loops, making a dress into a top or making small adjustments to improve the fit. If you have a bigger refashioning idea in mind, we can certainly talk it through and help you think about how you might tackle it, but some projects naturally need a little more time than we have available in one day.
The aim is to make sure everyone has time to sew, learn, experiment and enjoy the process, rather than trying to squeeze too much into the day.
As a stylist, Lesley will be sharing ideas about how you can make your existing clothes work harder for you, while Steph will be on hand throughout the day with her sewing expertise, helping you turn those ideas into reality and sharing tips and techniques along the way.
Bring your own sewing machine if you have one, or use the machine available to share. Hand sewing is welcome too.
💷 £46 per person
☕ Tea, coffee and snacks provided, just bring your own lunch.
Come along, bring something you no longer wear, and let’s see what we can create from it!
