Join us at the Florida Historic Capitol Museum as we look back at the special relationship between France and the early American Republic by honoring Bastille Day – the start of the French Revolution in 1789. Follow along our historic hallways to read Revolutionary Friends: General George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette by Selene Castrovilla and enjoy free craft activities, a special portrait interactive area, and snacks. This StoryWalk® program is part of the Florida Historic Capitol Museum’s George Washington Experience commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026. Guided reading will be held at 11:00 AM. The StoryWalk® is recommended for early readers and young history enthusiasts aged 5 - 12, but the illustrations and program activities can be enjoyed by all.
