In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the United States, historian Nathaniel Philbrick will explore fascinating stories of the Revolutionary War. This 31st Annual Governor's Lecture in the Humanities is part of the 2026-2027 E.N. Thompson Forum on World Issues. The lecture is free and open to the public, and live-streaming will be available. Nathaniel Philbrick is the author of eight New York Times bestselling works of American history, including "Mayflower," a finalist for the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for History. In honor of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, he will speak on the American Revolution, the topic of three of his books. Philbrick has appeared on various programs, including the PBS show "American Experience" and Ken Burns’ "The American Revolution."
