About this Event
No historical knowledge or theatre experience required — just curiosity and presence.
Step into an intimate, interactive evening where everyday acts of exchange become the stage for reflection. This is not a traditional performance — it’s a live, immersive experience shaped by you.
Guided by Marianne, a symbolic witness forged by the turmoil of the French Revolution and the intellectual currents of the Enlightenment, you’ll be invited to ask questions that still resonate today: what gives money its value? How do we decide what truly matters? And why do our choices around money define the world we live in?.
At the heart of this experience is the Revolutionary Market:
you’ll receive French revolutionary money and use it to choose from artisanal pastries, fresh bread, cheeses from Borough Market, and select objects of pleasure and culture. The items are presented in baskets or on the table, and each participant selects them with tongs or hands. Everything you “purchase” can be taken home as a personal souvenir, making each choice tangible and memorable.
Through storytelling, shared interaction, and participatory dialogue, the evening becomes a space where theatre, economy, culture, and personal reflection intersect in surprising ways.

About Marianne
Marianne is a symbolic figure shaped by revolution, memory, and survival. She embodies the questions of her time — and ours: freedom, justice, identity, and the true cost of change. Through her presence, the audience doesn’t just observe history — they sit with it, question it, and make meaning from it.
About the Creator
Marianne is created and performed by Sofia Briccio, Italian fashion designer and performer. Sofia blends historical research, costume design, and interactive storytelling to craft deeply personal and memorable encounters.
