Revera Energy Robertstown Hotel Speed Shear 2026
Saturday 10 October 2026 • Robertstown Hotel, Robertstown, South Australia
Three years of speed shearing comes together in Robertstown
What started with a late-night conversation across the bar about putting on a local speed shear has grown into one of Robertstown’s biggest annual community events. After the outstanding success of the first competition, entries were opened more broadly in the second year. Now in its third consecutive year, the Revera Energy Robertstown Hotel Speed Shear is going from strength to strength, with competitors, spectators and sponsors continuing to get behind the event.
Revera Energy — Principal Sponsor
The Robertstown Hotel is extremely proud to have Revera Energy as principal sponsor of the 2026 Speed Shear. Revera Energy’s contribution has helped shape the event and has played an important part in allowing it to grow into the major community occasion it is today. Their support is helping bring competitors, families and visitors together in Robertstown and supporting an event that celebrates regional communities and the shearing industry.
A big afternoon and evening
Shearing commences at 4:30pm, with competition across the Beginner, Veteran/Farmer and Open categories. DJ Yeah Nah will keep the atmosphere lively throughout the event before kicking on into the night after the competition.
Craft Garage Brewing Co. will also take over the outdoor bar at the Robertstown Hotel, with a selection of their unique brews available throughout the afternoon and evening.
A Robertstown weekend
The Speed Shear is becoming much more than a Saturday night competition — it is developing into a full Robertstown weekend. Visitors are encouraged to make a weekend of it and enjoy the range of activities happening around the town.
On Sunday, the Robertstown community markets commence at 10:00am in the paddock immediately next door to the hotel, with up to 17 stallholders expected. Approximately eight local residents will also be running car boot sales at the same location, adding to the relaxed country-market atmosphere.
At 1:00pm, Forage and Food will host an event as part of the Wandering Tales Arts Program, providing another attraction for visitors and locals to enjoy.
Camping is also available at the Robertstown Oval for just $10 per night. The fee includes access to the oval’s toilets and showers, with the full $10 camping fee going directly towards supporting the local football club. It provides an affordable option for competitors and visitors who want to stay in town and enjoy the whole weekend.
