RR is announcing the addition of a new trail race in eastern Louisiana. Reveillon de Loup (The Wolf's Feast) will be a fixed-time event with options for 3, 6, and 12 hours. The course will use a flat, non-technical, 3.3 mile trail "Loup" in Northlake Nature Center and Pelican Park recreational complex in Mandeville, LA.Rooted in the French traditions brought to South Louisiana, Réveillon is a time-honored holiday feast whose name comes from the French word for “awakening.” Traditionally celebrated after midnight Mass on Christmas Eve and again on New Year’s Eve, these gatherings brought family and friends together for hours of conversation, celebration, and extraordinary food. As the tradition took root in Louisiana, it embraced the rich flavors and culinary heritage of the region, with tables overflowing with seafood, gumbo, roasted meats, savory specialties, decadent desserts, and other local delicacies. Réveillon de Loup carries that spirit into the world of running, celebrating the magic of Christmas and the arrival of a new year through camaraderie, festive traditions, and an abundance of unique, unforgettable food.
