About this Event
Celebrate the 175th anniversary of Reuters, the international news agency that has connected people with stories from around the world since 1851.
From the carrier pigeons its founder flew between Aachen and Brussels in 1850 to telegraphy, Morse code, radio, teletype, and today’s global digital communications, Reuters has adopted new technologies to move information faster and farther.
Explore this history with members of the W6TRW Amateur Radio Club, who give live demonstrations of Morse code, radio teletype (RTTY), and modern radio communications. See historic and modern equipment at work, learn how amateur radio still connects people across great distances, and make your own Morse code bracelet.
Presented in partnership with Reuters and the W6TRW Amateur Radio Club.
The program takes place outdoors in the garden, so please dress for the weather. RSVP does not guarantee admission. An ADA-accessible entrance to the Wende Museum’s garden is through the gate from the parking lot at 10858 Culver Blvd.
