Join us for a welcoming half-day of mindfulness and compassion practice in Laguna Beach.
About this Event

Through guided meditation and companionable silence, we’ll explore ways of meeting our experience with greater awareness and care.

What to Expect

Over the course of this half-day retreat, we will move through a progression of practices including:

  • Mindfulness meditation
  • A compassionate body scan
  • Walking meditation
  • “Mountain” meditation
  • Mindful eating and lunch
  • Loving-kindness meditation
  • Inquiry and group discussion

The retreat will begin in silence following an introduction and framing of the practices. We will come out of silence together before concluding with time for inquiry, reflection, and discussion.

Who Is This Retreat For?

Both beginning and experienced meditators are welcome. No previous meditation or retreat experience is required.

If you are newer to meditation, the half-day format offers an accessible introduction to retreat practice without the commitment of a full-day or residential retreat. If you already have an established practice, the retreat offers an opportunity to step outside your usual routine and devote a sustained period of time to practice in community.

Lunch

Lunch will be provided and incorporated into the retreat as a mindful eating practice. Rather than taking a conventional lunch break, we will remain in companionable silence and explore eating as another opportunity for mindfulness.
