Carausias Arise! is the latest sonic ritual from Ceredigion-based obscurant Dafydd Roberts, sometimes known for his eerie alchemical-drone and hermetic sound experiments. Gnawing at the margins of UK underground since the early ’90s with releases via Camera Obscura, Oggum, Earworm, Ochre Records, Plate Lunch and his own Listen to the Voice of Fire imprint.
“A fabulous delirium of competing frequencies.” – Biba Kopf, The Wire “Weird and wonderful alchemy.” – Tom Ridge, The Wire “An astonishing meditation of noise… amazed and terrified by the unstoppable power he has unleashed.” – Ed Pinsent, The Sound Projector
Carausias Arise! is a live sonic ritual shaped by electronic noise, abstracted texture, and hymnic invocation, drawing on Anglo-Welsh poetry and 17th-century alchemical writings. It grows out of the folk-noise haze of Flying Saucer Attack, echoing Coil’s ritual electronics and the spectral vocal drift of Cucina Povera.
Now booking performances for 2026.
