About this Event

About the Event:

Digital and ambient scribes– AI-enabled tools that listen to conversations and automatically generate records of them– are rapidly transforming how interactions with public services are documented in social care, health and beyond. As this technology becomes more prevalent, key questions emerge: How do we build trust in its use? What does meaningful consent look like? What are practitioners experiencing on the ground? And where might this technology expand next? Join us for a free event on 17th March 2026 at the Guildhall in York to explore these questions. Hosted by the Administrative Fairness Lab, University of York, attendees will:

  • Hear cutting-edge research on trust, legitimacy, and consent in AI-enabled documentation with speakers including the Ada Lovelace Institute, Nesta and Cersi-AI.
  • Learn from front-line practitioners about their real-world experiences using digital scribes.
  • Connect with colleagues across sectors who are grappling with similar challenges.
  • Contribute to shaping best practice in this rapidly evolving field.
  • Explore the technology's potential applications beyond health and social care.
