Allen Temple is an early voting center and will be open during the event. That means you can pull up, cast your ballot, and then stick around to enjoy the all-ages, family-friendly block party!

Oakland is the Town of resistance.
We’ve resisted gentrification, displacement, housing crises, mass industry and job loss, eminent domain, and the other forces that continue to make it harder for our communities to stay, thrive, and call Oakland home. We resist every day simply by being here, loving our people, and fighting for a future where Black and Brown, working-class, immigrant, and formerly incarcerated communities have the opportunity to belong.
Our vote is no different. Our vote is one way we resist. One way we show up. One way we say: we are here, and we matter.
Our grandparents and great-grandparents organized and fought for the right to vote. We are not far removed from a time when Black and Brown people were systematically denied that right. Today, our voting rights continue to face challenges that threaten equal access to the ballot.
We refuse to take our history, or our power, for granted.
We Choose Joy. We Choose Community. We Choose to Show Up!
