What is agentic AI? How does it work, and why does it matter for research? In this research forum, Torkild Hovde Lyngstad, Professor of Sociology at the University of Oslo, will discuss the use of AI agents for research purposes. Most people have used AI chatbots like ChatGPT or Claude. These tools can be very useful, but they also have their limitations.
A more recent development is the introduction of AI agents that can work directly with content on our own computers, such as Claude Code and Codex. The use of such agents has become widespread in social science and is rapidly changing how research is carried out.
This seminar will demonstrate the usefulness of AI agents for your own research, and is relevant to both quantitative and qualitative researchers.
The seminar is held in English. More information about the event is available on OsloMet website: https://www.oslomet.no/en/about/events/research-forum-agetic-ai
