A two-day workshop exploring geometry, mathematics, pattern, and artistic experimentation.Inspired by Bice Lazzari and Nasreen Mohamedi: In-Rhythm, this immersive workshop led by visual artist Arvind Sundarexplores how mathematical ideas and geometric systems can become tools for making art. Through discussion, drawing, construction, and hands-on experimentation, participants engage with concepts such as the Fibonacci sequence, the Golden Ratio, fractals, chess, and modular origami.Beginning with an introduction to Sundar’s artistic practice, the workshop examines how rule-based systems, geometric structures, and mathematical relationships generate visual forms and creative possibilities. Participants construct Fibonacci spirals, experiment with pattern-making, create fractal collages, and explore the Knight’s Tour, a chess-based system that transforms simple rules into complex visual pathways. Working with grids, ratios, sequences, and rule-based systems, he investigates how mathematical structures can generate visual and conceptual possibilities.
