A performance about circus training and the meaning of life
Circus artist Signe Løve Anderskov has practiced handstand for 25 years. Now she asks herself: Was it worth the effort? On stage, she demonstrates physical exercises, gives philosophical and scientific explanations of why people practice. She invites the audience into the struggle between control, falling and meaning.
Relativ stilstand is a rare insight into the world of circus training and a sensual experience of a person’s struggle with their life project.
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Reumert-nominated Signe Løve Anderskov’s new production, ‘Relativ stilstand’ (Relative Stillness), is an existential reflection expressed through the language of circus—a language she continually renews and refines. The monotony of repetition, irreversible decay, and the balance between faith and doubt captivate both mind and heart in this deeply original, intellectually sharp, and deeply moving monologue, which stands comparison with the finest classical works.”
