About this Event
In the 18th century, thousands of refugees from south-western Germany moved to Ireland, fleeing war and religious persecution. The influence of these settlers lives on in parts of Ireland to this day.
Deirdre Kinahan’s new play draws on the hidden history of these settlers and links it to the experiences of displaced people in Ireland today as well as minorities such as the Traveller community. Kinahan has written over 30 plays and is one of Ireland’s best-known contemporary playwrights.
This special unplugged staging at historical venue Babylon in Berlin is presented as part of the cultural programme of Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the EU.
The staging will be in English language with no subtitles.
