About the Hike: Join Sempervirens Fund on a volunteer-led hike through one of our favorite routes in Henry Cowell State Park. This hike begins and ends in an old growth redwood forest featuring some of the most magnificent trees in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This route follows a bank of the beautiful San Lorenzo River, then climbs through redwood and mixed evergreen forests to the unique chaparral habitat of the Santa Cruz Sandhills. From the summit area, participants will get to see the stunning views in the north, to the Monterey Bay in the south. This landscape also holds a special significance, as the area that became this park played an important role in the origin story of Sempervirens Fund.
To join this group hike, all participants are required to sign a liability waiver.
